| Improper mounting of
your portable mixer will significantly decrease
mixing efficiency, and could damage the mixer. |

Material merely rotates
and forms a vortex. There is practically no mixing
and excessive vortexing can cause serious vibration,
and could damage the mixer.

Eastern portable mixers feature
heavy duty bearing construction, standard
NEMA flange motors and precise shaft runout
tolerances. The clamp type portable has a
stable three point universal clamp mount.
The fixed entry portable is flange mounted
or “Lord” mounted with angle risers.
All models are in complete accordance with
OSHA standards.
Eastern’s sizing expertise will give
you greater efficiency and economy in the
selection of a mixer for your application. |

Chart is based on the following conditions:
1. Medium agitation
2. Specific Gravity = 1
(For different Specific Gravity, multiply
Specific Gravity x the H.P. of the unit suggested
to obtain required H.P.)
3. If tank height exceeds 1-1/2 times the
diameter, use dual propellers
Note: If you have any special requirements
or are not sure of your selection, please
consult with our Application Engineers for
the selection of the most effective and economical
mixer for your job. |

| Vertical on Center
with Baffles |
|
Better design-baffling
overcomes vortexing for good mixing and top to bottom
turnover.
|
|
 |
|
| Angled on Center |
|
Material rotates with
some top to bottom turnover, most vortexing is eliminated.
Mixing is better.
|
|
 |
|
| Angled off Center |
|
Preferred position --
material rotates, but with rapid top to bottom turnover
and good sweeping action on bottom.
|
|
| Note: Basis for positioning:
all units rotate clockwise looking down the shaft.
Lower propeller minimum is 2 propeller diameters
off bottom. |
